Industrial Filters

Our Partner

Industrial filters need to be of a certain quality that cannot be compromised. Care must be taken in their manufacture to achieve that quality of construction, and the resulting quality of their performance, as well.

As for the performance resulting from quality of construction and manufacture, recent innovations have boosted performance in both the work performed, and in the energy savings resulting from the use of these innovations.

Industrial Air Filters…

For example, in the case of industrial air filters; constructing filters in a circular tube-knit fashion, which is to say that the end product is without seams, eliminates the possibility of leak points in the filter material itself.

Another example, in innovative filter fabric textiles, is the use of “loop pile” surfaces which enhance permeability, thus reducing drop pressure conditions, while also boosting the filtration efficiencies to be up to 99.99%.

The increased efficiency of such innovations translates also into increased energy savings, due to the ease of load upon the equipment behind the air filters themselves, as well as the smoothness of the flow of  the work performed by such equipment, which in turn, also translates into less maintenance issues.

Industrial Water Filters…

Industrial water filters, whether used for commercial water purification purposes or as whole house water filters, must also have the same amount of innovative efficiency, creating less maintenance issues and higher energy efficiency for the equipment involved in water filtering. If you need replacement water filters, using products representing the current state-of-the-art can greatly improve the performance of your whole filtration system.

Paper Filters…

Paper filters for just about any purpose may be acquired quite easily and for minimal cost. They can be found in many types and can serve a multitude of purposes ranging from roll media for coolant filtration, to plate and frame filters pre-cut for plate and frame presses, to filters for edible oils, such as those used by restaurants and other vendors in the food industry.

Cartridge Filters…

Cartridge filters, much like the type you use when you change the oil filter in your car, are most often of the type to be multi-pleated for maximum filtering surface area exposure. Whether for commercial, industrial or other use, they must be designed to withstand rigorous conditions, and thus made from the highest quality materials to meet or exceed OEM specifications.

For various applications, such as air filtration for example, where grain loadings are low, paper elements are used with an inner expanded metal column for structural integrity. For other applications where grain loadings may be high, or where environments are harsh, wherein moist, sticky or abrasive materials must be filtered, fabric elements may be used – such as those utilizing Polyester, Polypropylene and/or Nomex Needlefelts.

Sunrooms and Gazebos

SUNROOMS

Our Partners

Sunrooms, also called garden rooms, conservatories or solariums, are fairly much all the same, but can summon different images due to the different functionality they can all employ.

For example, the terms “sunroom” and “solarium”  are pretty much synonymous, and are easily enough understood as extended room additions which are housed in glass or other clear medium (most often of a UV ray filtering quality), in order to enjoy the sunlight and further bring in more natural light into the home.

The term “conservatory”, very often used in Europe and throughout the United Kingdom (though also in many areas of North America), tends to mean more than the above explanation of a sunroom, in that many homeowners often use these spaces, among other reasons, to keep care of rare and attention-needing, perhaps even fragile, garden plants. Some sunroom designs can be set up as fully functional, home-attached greenhouses, depending on daily sunshine exposure.

Many homeowners who indulge in gardening often take plants indoors to withstand the colder months of the year, to then be later placed back outdoors, warmer seasons permitting – thus, “conservatory”. Perhaps more often, conservatories are used to house such plants and flowers permanently indoors, while still being able to take in the all-surrounding sunlight of the day. The term “garden room” is synonymous in this regard.

However, whether they be sunrooms, conservatories, solariums or garden rooms, these types of room additions to a home are increasing in popularity among home owners for a number of reasons, the most important perhaps being their versatility of functionality, especially as sunroom designs can vary according to individual tastes. Some examples may include;

Some Sunroom Ideas…

A sunroom can allow homeowners to enjoy the outdoors without actually being outside. Perhaps it’s a sunny day, and a family may wish to enjoy a mid-day meal out on the patio, but the weather may be too hot or humid to be comfortable. In a sunroom, a family can enjoy a mid-day meal together while enjoying the clear sky and sunshine of the outdoors, but still be bathed in the comfortable air conditions of the indoors of the rest of the home – and without mosquitoes.

Perhaps you and your loved one might decide to enjoy a quiet, candle-lit dinner beneath the night-time sky, under the stars above. In this instance, a solarium can be useful even with no sun in the sky. Now you can enjoy a dinner under the stars, safely tucked away from any night-time chills, backyard insects, or sudden breezes that may blow out the candles – what’s more is that you can enjoy a bit of dinner music to set any mood without disturbing any neighbors.

Another use to enjoy is simply a quiet space to do some work – perhaps on a laptop pc, with a bit of afternoon tea, in the relaxing and serene surroundings of sunlight and plants, maybe with a bit of soft-playing instrumental music in the background, away from all other distractions, in your quiet home office with a brilliant view.

Some homeowners who have children find that such room additions make for wonderful, healthy, sun-filled play areas for their children, which also helps to keep the livingroom space free to be useful for other things than a space for scattered toys and the loud sounds of playful children (bless them).

Increasingly popular among sunroom ideas is the use of such a space as a spa – a place for a hot tub as well as some potted and hanging plants… the plants and flowers create a blissfully stress-relieving atmosphere, and the heat and light steam of the hot tub with the sunlight pouring in is brilliant for the flora and foliage of the plants. Can you imagine the sense of paradise? Now envision the same thing at night-time, amid some small, scattered dim lights, with a loved one and a bottle of champagne or fine wine, with some soft music in the background, all under a blanket of stars. Sounds quite appealing, yes?

There are many other uses for such room additions, but one very beneficial reason to have one is the increase in property value that sunrooms can represent. It’s quite a unique endeavor to raise the value of one’s home, in that the cost to create one, depending on the types of sunroom designs used, can be vastly lower than any other type of room addition – and the resulting space is often quite considerably more value raising than any other type of addition to the home as well. Having a sunroom attached to a home is an enormously valuable feature in just about any home that has one in today’s market.

GAZEBOS

Our Partners

Gazebos can come in a variety of designs, as well as a variety of how they are built and structured as far as the materials used in their construction. There are those that are permanent, and constructed of lumber, and there are also those which are more temporary structures, comprised of aluminum frames and covered over with canvas or other materials, and are quite take-downable and portable, as everything involved in the structure can be taken around by vehicle, whether on the roof rack or in the trunk or back seat.

Canopy Gazebo – Various Gazebo Canopy Types…

Some gazebos are a mix of the two, being permanent structures of lumber, but with a canvas canopy that can be taken down for more of an open deck type of experience. The canopy gazebo is a very popular type, as gazebo canopies can be changed from one design or pattern to another, in order to accommodate varying themes or different events. You might use one gazebo canopy for every day, while using another for special occasions, or yet another gazebo canopy for certain, more specific events.

Replacement Gazebos…

If you have a gazebo that has seen a great many years and is falling to disrepair, you might wish to find a gazebo replacement. In such a case, you may wish to consider what type of gazebo you wish to have to replace the former one. What are your specific needs? Will you opt for using a transparent canopy, even extending it down the sides, for a separate sunroom, or classy greenhouse? Perhaps you want a sturdy, solid, permanent roof? Will you be entertaining guests for parties, lunches or barbecues? Will you need a place for a playing band while you host a large, outdoor family reunion in your back yard? Will you be hosting an outdoor, evening wine tasting party? First consider your needs and desires, then consider the options available to you.

Railings and Awnings

EcoFabrics Inc Railings

Railings are a certain bit of detail which combines form with function. In light of this, it’s good to consider both of these factors when deciding upon just what we desire for the materials to use in your construction. They should be durable, as well as pleasing to the eye. The particular location of them can help decide… for example, if you need porch railings, and you perhaps might be considering aluminum railings as the material of choice, you might opt for these for durability and low maintenance – but unless you want a rigid, straight design, you might decide otherwise. Smooth, round and flowing forms are not common among aluminum extrusion parts. This choice may be desirable however, for deck railings, and perhaps stairway railings in another location. Let’s look at some materials to consider below…

Aluminum Railings…

Aluminum railings are excellent for function, if for form you don’t need anything overly ornate. Lightweight, yet sturdy, aluminum railings are quite inexpensive, are pleasing enough to the eye, require very little maintenance over the many years to come, and can last decades. Aluminum railings can be textured, brushed, or polished smooth.

Vinyl Railings…

Vinyl railings (often vinyl coated steel or aluminum for structural strength) are quite a versatile type, and such material may be inexpensively molded into a wide variety of forms, twists and contours, and can be acquired in a broad spectrum of colours. The maintenance factor of these is next to zero, as all that is needed to make them look like new, even after multiple years of use, is simply to wash them down with soapy water.

EcoFabrics Inc Awnings

Awnings can greatly improve a home in many ways. Some of these can include raising property value, increasing the attractiveness of a home, and they can actually also help increase energy efficiency while decreasing utility bill expense.

But there are many types for different purposes, such as a porch awning for example. Porch awnings are large retractable awnings which can turn a porch or patio into an extended home living space, creating a cool and shady place to enjoy during the hot summer months.

There are many types of awnings to choose from… some are fixed, in that they do not retract, and there are those that fold up and away. But there are different shapes as well – some domed types are popular for doors and windows, and many of these are among the fixed variety. The retractable types may be hand operated, or some varieties may be fitted with sensors to detect light or rising temperatures. Both the retractable and fixed types however, can be used for energy efficiency as well, which can also raise the value of one’s home.

Awnings can provide energy efficiency…

Depending upon your home’s location and climate, having an awning over each window and door on the east, south and west faces of your home can lower indoor temperatures by 8-15 degrees.  These window awnings can translate into a decrease of air conditioning use of up to 25%. Retractable awnings are perfect for affecting energy efficiency, as they can be deployed for cooler temperatures in the summer months, and retracted to let natural light and heat from the sun into the home.

Awnings can raise the value of your home…

When calculating the raised value of your home due to energy efficiency, the numbers average about $17.00 or so for every dollar saved in utilities per year. Let’s imagine that you end up saving about $300.00 in utility bills per year – that would add over $5,000.00 to the value of your home.

But aside from this means of adding value to your home, if you were ever to put a home on the market, one of the first things a realtor thinks about for selling a home is “curb appeal” – how a home catches the eye from the road. Awnings do a wonderful job of appealing to the eye in this way, especially for neighborhoods where many homes along a stretch of road may be fairly identical. Window awnings and door awnings can really make a house stand out and seem more like a home.

Awning fabric choices add a unique and personal touch…

Awning fabric is also something to consider, as some types are better than others in terms of weatherability. The type that may suit your home best would depend on your region and it’s overall climate throughout the year, and how much direct sunlight shines down upon your home. Perhaps your home is well shaded by trees… if not, your choice of awning fabric type may be one which can stand up to UV rays better than other types.

The multitude of colours and patterns that awning fabric can come in – or even be custom ordered in your own special design preferences – are almost innumerable. Just about any pattern, design and colour can be chosen according to individual tastes, which makes the whole project have a unique and personal touch quite achievable by anyone.

Awnings – a simple home improvement project with a large effect…

But with all that awnings can do; providing energy efficiency, adding visual appeal to the home, extend living space out onto a deck, raise the overall value of the property… adding awnings to your home is a very inexpensive way to achieve all of this in one simple home improvement project, which in most cases can be done on your own, inexpensively, and without even hiring a single contractor. Any kind of home improvement project which would benefit the home is best when it brings the most value to your home while costing as little as possible in investment. Adding awnings to your home is just such a project, adding beauty in both form, as well as in function.

Siding

Siding for homes which is durable, low maintenance and insulated, yet inexpensive, can these days be categorized into two major groups; vinyl siding, and aluminum siding. All things being perfect, both can last quite a few decades. Both are inexpensive, and both are very easy to clean and quite simple to maintain. However, there may be reasons, depending upon your individual needs, to choose one over other. Let’s take a general look at some of the pros and cons of each…

Aluminum Siding…

Aluminum siding, which is usually about .019” thick, is very rigid and durable, and rarely ever is affected by temperature changes, as even in extreme cases, it maintains the same properties. It doesn’t expand or contract from extreme temperature changes as much as vinyl does. Coming in a variety of colours, aluminum siding has the color baked on. This can prove to be quite a durable color-fastness, though if the siding is ever scraped or scratched, it will leave a shiny streak. Carefully repainting scratches fixes this. Aluminum siding installation is simple, and can be done quickly. This material may be bent to conform to certain contours. Aluminum siding can last up to 40 years or more.

Vinyl Siding…

Vinyl siding, which generally comes in about a .04”-.046” thickness, is about twice the thickness of aluminum siding, and is therefore more durable and more insulated. Coming in a vast array of colours, it never needs repainting because the colour is throughout the material completely. Due to this feature, the colour also never fades, even from exposure to the hot sun. The ease of wrapping vinyl siding around a house makes short work of the task. However, vinyl siding can expand and contract in extreme temperature changes, becoming brittle in extreme winter climates, though one option which is sometimes available is to have insulated vinyl siding, where the siding is backed with full insulation, which minimizes this. This option also makes this material a little more rigid, and helps keep the siding from ripping off in gale-force winter storm winds in harsh weather areas. This material however, backed or not, may be too rigid to bend in order to conform to certain contours. Vinyl siding installation is very simple and easy. Vinyl siding can last up to 50 years or more.

The Best of Both Worlds, Aluminum Siding and Vinyl Siding…

It’s increasingly common practice among home owners to use both aluminum siding and vinyl siding to utilize the best properties of each. That is to say, a typical home siding project may have the main areas sided with insulated vinyl siding easily wrapped around the house. Aluminum siding is then used to cap off all the ends, corners, and trim around edges such as windows, doors and vents, as the rigidity of aluminum siding supports the vinyl siding in this way, as well as the fact that aluminum siding can bend and form around the different types of contours and shapes in these specific areas where otherwise vinyl siding can not.

Shutters

provide a homey appeal to a house, even raising the value of a property by doing so, as well as being functional, and there are those which also provide security… whether for a commercial building to close up shop, or to guard against theft, whether the property be a commercial one or residential, or to guard against harsh weather conditions – or both. This type can also be pleasing to the eye.

Window Shutters…

Window shutters, as mentioned above, can beautify a home while also being functional. Wooden shutters are a common choice, and of these, those made of certain woods such as cedar are often used not only for the beautiful look of the wood, but due to the properties of guarding against insects and decay, and also its weather-ability. Wooden shutters can be coloured with various stains or paints, and thus can conform to the aesthetic needs of any individual tastes and preferences.

Louvered Shutters…

Louvered shutters have quite a few advantages, some of which are: when you have these types of shutters on your windows, and they are closed, you can have the privacy of not being seen through your windows from the road and still be able to see outside, while also being able to let natural light into the house; there is often no need for carpentry skills to install them, as many models come complete in their own frame, and installation is merely a matter of a few small screws; they are esthetically pleasing to the eye, suggestive of an older style of living, and allow the home to breathe while the windows are “shut”, both with the incoming breeze, as well as thermally with the incoming sunlight.

Roller Shutters…

Roller shutters are the variety which can roll up and out of view when not in in use, and roll out to secure the area being closed.

While this type may call to mind an image of bolting things down, or “battening down the hatches” so to speak, such as when a commercial property is “closing up shop”, this type of shutter is not only used in this kind of instance necessarily.

Many homes on fact use this kind of shutter system, whether to protect windows and doors from harsh weather conditions, or even to lock things down tightly and guard against break-ins, vandalism, burglaries and theft while the family is away on vacation. At the same time, these are manufactured for eye appeal as well, so as not to make a home or business appear like a fort – although the added security may make a home or business as good as one.

Flags and Flagpoles

Our Partners

Flags and Banners…

Flags and banners can be acquired to represent just about any country in the world, or even custom made to depict any logo, symbol or message. The use of quality modern materials to guard against wind ripping and sun fading of colours makes them stand as long-lasting investments in pride and patriotism. The amount of sizes and dimensions as well as the near-limitless amount of colours available make it a simple task to acquire the flags and banners you desire.

Custom Flags…

Perhaps you’re company is playing host to a huge sale event and you require huge banners with your company’s logo on them; or maybe you need to represent a special group at a specific event that may at first thought seem difficult to get a flag or banner for… whether a Freemason or Shriners lodge outing, or perhaps even a Hiawatha Belt emblem banner to represent the Iroquois Nation of the Akwesasne territory and be brought into “Grand Entry” at the opening of an inter tribal powwow gathering event. Whatever the need, however mainstream or seemingly obscure, it can be met, and in a professional and timely manner.

Flagpoles…

Flagpoles can serve a variety of uses, but there are three main categories that they all can fit into; residential flagpoles, commercial flagpoles, and recreational flagpoles. Let’s take a quick look at all three…

Residential Flagpoles…

Residential flagpoles are those that home owners use, perhaps for flying the colours of their country, a banner of an organization they belong to, or for various other reasons. Perhaps a meteorology enthusiast will hang windsocks, anemometers or other devices for tracking the weather in pursuit of their hobby. They may be placed in the front yard, or perhaps in the back yard near the patio, or in the yard’s center. Another variety in this category, is the type which stand out from a wall mount, such as over a doorway, or the smaller version of the same, next to the front door of a home, by the mailbox and doorbell.

Commercial Flagpoles…

Commercial flagpoles are those which are used by some companies to fly banners with their logo, messages of coming events like sales, or product/service rates to be compared with those of others. Particularly tall commercial flagpoles often fly logo standards to be seen by drivers in their vehicles many roads away in order for the retail establishment to be easily located, making navigation by eye to the place of business a simple task.

Recreational Flagpoles…

Recreational flagpoles may be used as markers to make easily known the whereabouts of a certain event in a large public area such as a park, a beach or a playground. Such an event may be of a business recreational variety, could be involved with summer camps or scouting, or perhaps a large family reunion type event. Sometimes recreational events are team oriented, such as volleyball tournaments on a large beach, and recreational flagpoles may be used to mark such areas as well as team logos and such.

The Flag Poles Themselves…

The types of flag poles that are on the market today can be one piece, connecting pieces, or telescoping. They can be made of galvanized steel, high-impact PVC, aluminum, or even fiberglass. There are many types to fit any particular individual need.

Flagpole Installation…

Flagpole installation methods can vary from company to company, and the largest problems that can occur during this phase is that of having to deal with more than one different contractor. There is the checking for safe areas for digging, the digging itself, the pourings of concrete, and so on. However, this need not be the case. There are those who install state-of-the-art flagpole systems without needing to dig so much, and without needing to pour even a teaspoon of concrete. Such installation specialists use flagpole systems which employ fins or veins in the flag pole’s base, often in a corkscrew type of configuration, to achieve a concrete less installation that can stand as permanently as you like, and even be moved to another location with a minimum of fuss, should you ever change your mind and wish for it to be relocated elsewhere. This type of flagpole system, with it’s root base planted below the frost layer, can bear loads that are quite considerably heavy, even in what would otherwise be considered loose, or unstable groundings.

Flagpole Kits…

Flagpole kits are just what they sound like – do it yourself projects to install a simple, yet sturdy flagpole for flying any flag you like. Such kits can come in sections that you put together, for a flagpole of around 20 feet long or more, and can be left permanently, or be taken down just as easily as they are put up. There are also flagpole kits of the variety that protrude forth from a wall, such as the front face of a house, right by the front door. The poles for these may be made of wood, aluminum, fiberglass, acrylic or PVC.
